There was a waiting room for passengers on the left side of the building with seats around the sides of the room and with a potbelly stove in the center to heat the building when needed. The other half of the building included the office of the station manager and a room for the freight packages that were brought in.
When the railroad closed 1926, the building was moved to the Vander Kolk farm one third of a mile west of 40th Ave. Today the interurban depot has been relocated to the church property of Search Light Ministries at 4020 22nd Ave., Jamestown, MI.
The Forest Grove Station was used by many Hudsonville folks during the Interurban Era of 1901 to 1926. My Aunt Gladys Elzinga would board this train at the Forest Grove Station to attend classes at Hope College in Holland during the mid 1920;s.
